Here are the chosen 15 places you must visit during your stay at Hidalgo Mexico:

Hidalgo,Mexico is popular for its natural wonders, like the breathtaking Las Grutas de Tolantongo hot springs, and for traditions like the brightly coloured celebrations, music, and dancing of the “Feria de la Candelaria,” which takes place in February.

Hidalgo’s rich pre Columbian past, which is evident in the numerous ancient pyramids and ruins marking the state the most popular of which is the ancient city of Tula which is also one of its main attractions.

Here are my top 15 activities in Hidalgo Mexico to help you enjoy your vacation and make sure you don’t miss anything amazing this state has to offer.

15 Best Spots in Hidalgo Mexico

15. Ancient Toltec City Ruins Of Tula

Tula, Mexico
Tula, Mexico

Tula Archaeological Site NEEDS to be on your travel list if you love heritage and archaeology.

Tula is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Hidalgo Mexico, so even if you’re not, I still believe you must put this on your list of things to do in Hidalgo.
The enormous stone warriors known as the “Atlantes,” who guard the temple’s entry, are one of the most striking features of Tula, an ancient city that the Toltecs once called home.

The sculpted figures are now among the most popular representations of the Toltec civilization.

The chance of climbing to the very top of the main temple is one of the best parts of a trip to the Tula Archaeological Site.
The climb is a little hard but the views from up there in my opinion are well worth the effort.

14. Thermal Pools Of Las Grutas De Tolantongo

Las Grutas De Tolantongo, Hidalgo Mexico
Las Grutas De Tolantongo

If you want an exceptional and memorable experience, you have to visit Las Grutas de Tolantongo in Hidalgo Mexico. Tolantongo Hidalgo Mexico is an absolute favourite of mine.

The Tolantongo River created the hot springs, which are framed by beautiful rock formations and lush vegetation and offer the ideal getaway from the daily grind.

You will be astounded by the majesty of the surrounding towering formations of rocks and the sparkling clear thermal waters.
There are plenty of pools to pick from, varying in temperature from warm to hot, so there is going to be one that is perfect for you.

You can pass the time with plenty of other activities.
You can explore the neighbouring caves, hike alongside the river, and find hidden waterfalls. There’s even a zipline if you’re feeling bold.

A wonderful day can be completed by grabbing some food  at one of the many restaurants located on the property after a full afternoon and watching the sun go down beneath the mountains.

13. Volcanic Basalt Colums At Prismas Basalticos

Prismas Basalticos
Prismas Basalticos

Millions of years ago, eruptions from volcanoes created the amazing natural wonder of Prismas Basalticos in Huasca de Ocampos, which is an enjoyable and thrilling outdoor experience.

The range of activities available at Prismas Basalticos is excellent; you can explore by boat, horseback, or on foot.
After your fun filled morning or afternoon, stop by one of the local eateries for a bite to eat, to complete your adventurous day in one of my favourite spots in Hidalgo Mexico.

12. Hiking To Pena Del Cuervo

Pena del Cuervo
Pena del Cuervo

Pena del Cuervo hike is the ideal outdoor activity if you’re looking for something a little more challenging!
This gorgeous rock formation in the heart of the Sierra Gorda, which is sure to leave you feeling energised and with amazing views!

A medium to difficult trail that flows through the Sierra Gorda’s lush vegetation leads to Pena del Cuervo.
You’ll be greeted by amazing views as you move up the path, which spans from the gorgeous peaks of the Sierra Gorda to rolling hills dotted with cacti.

After the hike, cool off by taking a dip in the naturally occurring swimming pool at the base of the rock formation and admire its beauty.
The Centro de Visitantes Parque Nacional El Chico, Hgo, is where the walk begins.

11. Sandboarding At Las Dunas Rojas

Las Dunas Rojas
Las Dunas Rojas

This unique and stunning landscape was created by the wind and water eroding the dunes over tens of thousands of years.
The most amazing way to see the Las Dunas Rojas is to go up to the top of one of the dunes and enjoy the breathtaking views that await you there.

And the joy doesn’t end there. Enjoy the excitement of sandboarding, a local activity that involves sliding down the dunes on a board.
This is a view that you cannot miss while visiting Hidalgo Mexico.

10. Visit The Carnival

Carnival in Hidalgo Mexico

Don’t miss the carnival in Tenango de Doria, Hidalgo, if you’re searching for a lively and colourful event.
This yearly celebration honours the ancient Mexican holiday of the Candelaria and takes place during the first week of February.

The town comes alive with energy and joy during Carnival, when people gather to feast, perform and sing.
The “Los Chinelos” march is one of the carnival’s best bits.
People dress in vibrant outfits, masks, and headpieces, and they dance cheerfully on the streets.

The lavish outfits and exciting performance will captivate you with their visual spectacle.
If you enjoy partying and typical Mexican culture, you should definitely check out Tenango de Doria’s carnival.

9. Visit Aqueduct of Padre Tembleque

Aqueduct of Padre Tembleque
Aqueduct of Padre Tembleque

Originally built in the sixteenth century, this amazing construction was intended to supply water to the neighbouring town of Huejutla.
The entire waterway network is more than thirty miles (48 km) long.

The waterway is a magnificent sight, a powerful representation of the fortitude and tenacity of those who built it, and an important reminder of the amazing things that are possible when people apply their creativity and willpower.

8. Visit Pachuca Hidalgo’s Capital

Pachuca Hidalgo
Pachuca Hidalgo

A trip to Pachuca, the state’s capital, is a must see when visiting Hidalgo Mexico.
Pachuca offers something for every person, whether you’re searching for adventure, history, or just an enjoyable time.

When visiting Pachuca, you must make sure to climb to the top of the Torre del Reloj.
One of the most widely known symbols in the city is this clock tower, and climbing to the top offers amazing views of the city and the rural surroundings.

Tacos, tamales, pozole, and carnitas are just a few of the mouthwatering street foods that Pachuca is famous for.

7. Visit Pahnu Archeological Site

Pahnu Archeological Site
Pahnu Archeological Site

Discovering the remote city of Pahnu, which was formerly inhabited by the Otomi people, is an exciting adventure because it’s a somewhat undiscovered location.

Pyramids, plazas, and temples that have been preserved at the site each tell a unique tale about the Otomi people and their rich heritage.

The chance to go up one of the pyramids and be presented with incredible views of the landscape below is one of the best parts of a trip to the Pahnu Archaeological Site.
I personally enjoy these old ruins and this has to be one of the oldest sites to exist in Hidalgo Mexico.

6. Enjoy Water Sports At Zimapan Dam

Zimapan Dam
Zimapan Dam

The Zimapan Dam, a gorgeous man made lake in the centre of Hidalgo, provides a refreshing escape from the hectic city life.

There is an activity for everybody at Zimapan Dam, whether you want to take a boat ride, go fishing, or just unwind on the beach.

It’s a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the sunshine.
You can find a shaded area to have a picnic with friends and family or just relax on the white sand beaches.
Zimapan Dam is located in Hidalgo on Parque Miguel Hidalgo Road.

5. Go Rock Climbing In Hell’s Canyon

canyon del infiernillo

Prepare yourself for an unbeatable adventure.
Enjoy the magnificent canyon of Canon del Infiernillo, in which you can stare upon enormous rock formations!

A number of natural pools and waterfalls can be found throughout Canon del Infiernillo, which are ideal for a cool dip.
Try rock climbing and rappelling if you’re adventurous enough to enjoy the breathtaking views from the top of the cliffs.

4. Visit The Magical Town Of Tecozautla

Tecozautla
Tecozautla

You have to go to the unique town of Tecozautla if you’re searching for a fantastical experience in Hidalgo!
The gorgeous and adorable town of Tecozautla is filled with surprises!

Its antique streets, colonial style houses, and stunning natural setting are sure to charm you in no time!
Walking around Tecozautla’s main square, which is the ideal spot to take in the local ambience, is one of the highlights of a visit.

One of the oldest structures in Tecozautla is the historical church, which you should definitely see while you’re there. It was built in the sixteenth century! It is a stunning illustration of colonial-style building design.

Visit the neighbouring Cueva del Diablo, a breathtaking natural cave with fascinating rock formations just just a few miles away, if you’re looking for an adventure in the outdoors.

3. Visit The Trade Town Of Huichapan

Huichapan
Huichapan

Mule drivers who travelled the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro with loads of cargo and passengers once gathered in magical Huichapan.

A reminder to the town’s rich past is the fact that Julian Villagran, who was instrumental in Mexico’s independence, is renowned for having been born there.
For those who are interested in Mexican history and culture, Huichapan’s colonial-era religious architecture, which features magnificent limestone churches with baroque decorations, is a must-see.

Make sure to visit the Parroquia de San Mateo, Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, and Capilla de la Tercera Orden churches.
These exquisite buildings will undoubtedly offer a memorable experience and are a tribute to Huichapan’s rich cultural and religious legacy.

2. Visit Huejutla in Hidalgo, Mexico

Huejutla Hidalgo
Huejutla Hidalgo

Huejutla is a town which is an undiscovered gem that awaits to be found.
This town, which is in the centre of Hidalgo, is a true representation of Mexican history, culture, and customs.

If you want to experience real Mexican culture, this is the place to go.

The magnificent colonial architecture found in Huejutla’s structures, churches, and residences is popular with tourists.
Parroquia de San Juan Bautista, the town’s main church, is a superb illustration of religious architecture from the colonial era.

A variety of adventure activities are available in Huejutla, including hiking and exploring the neighbouring caves and waterfalls.

If you’re in search of an amazing Oregon Coast beach camping experience, you’re at the right place. Camping Oregon coast is a great way for families and adventurers to get outside and connect with nature because of its untamed hills, ancient forests, and rugged coastal shores.
Enjoying the seclusion and peace of the Oregon coast is the main goal of beach camping,so we’ve come up with a list of the best camping Oregon coast spots in one place, to help you decide which will be your next Oregon camping adventure.

17. Nehalem Bay State Park

camping oregon coast
nehalem bay state park

Nehalem Bay State Park is located on a 4-mile long sand spit that is tucked between the bay and the ocean. Nehalem Bay State Park is 86 miles west of Portland on the north Oregon Coast. It offers a campground, two day use areas, and a range of family friendly activities.

The campground is surrounded by rolling dunes that divide it from the beach, positioned through a sea of shore pines. You can get to the beach and start making sandcastles, flying a kite, or just chilling to the sound of the waves while taking a trip over the dunes. Beachcombing may reveal unique finds, such as agates, shells, and occasionally glass floats. Cap off the day with a sunset beneath Neah-kah-nie Mountain, overlooking the ocean.

16.  Cape Lookout State Park

camping oregon coast
Cape Lookout State Park

It takes one and a half hours to get to Cape Lookout State Park from Portland through the scenic route of Wilson River pass. Stop along the route to take in the breathtaking scenery, some excellent fishing, and waterfalls.
Situated on a sand spit between Netarts Bay and the ocean, Cape Lookout is a beloved campground and an area that offers great ocean views and convenient access to the beach.

This is a popular beach for beachcombing, and the park is said to be a good place to find glass floats. Hiking and walking trails spanning over eight miles wander through a green old-growth forest. For over two miles, the Cape Lookout trail hugs the headland. At the end of the trail is a bench. Admire the scenery! Along with other wildlife, you might spot one or two whales in here.

15. Fort Stevens State Park

camping oregon coast
Fort Stevens State Park

One of the most gorgeous towns on the Oregon Coast is Astoria, Oregon. One of the biggest campgrounds on the Oregon Coast is located in Fort Stevens State Park, which is located at the very tip of northwest Oregon.
Despite having 300 tent sites and 150 RV sites, this campground is very popular and sells out quickly, especially in the summer.

Campers can enjoy features like hot showers, running water, and flushing toilets next to an amphitheatre that fills with enthusiastic kids while parents organise the day’s activities.
For those who enjoy history, camping at Fort Stevens is a great option as it was once a real military fort. Stop by the centre for visitors to learn about the history of the fort before starting your designed tour through all of the barracks and bunkers.

14.Harris Beach State Park

camping oregon coast
Harris Beach State Park

In here, breathtaking views are the main attraction. Found in close proximity to the amazing Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor, Harris Beach State Park is a wonderful Oregon Coast campground that lives up to its reputation.
Each of the 90 RV and 60 tent sites has a picnic table, fire ring, and paved parking space. There is also running water, toiletries, and showers available.

With these luxuries and the breathtaking views from easily accessible surrounding viewpoints, it’s no wonder this is one of the best campgrounds along the Oregon Coast!

  • Fee: $35 per night

13. Wright’s for Camping

camping oregon coast
Wright’s for Camping

The truth is that Cannon Beach is the most admired beach in Oregon. Fortunately, Wright’s for Camping has a great location next to Cannon Beach, making it the ideal choice for anyone looking to camp close to the Tufted Puffins at Haystack Rock.
Since 1959, the family run campground Wright’s for Camping has been in business. Families with kids will love this Oregon Coast camping area, which has 22 campsites, hot showers, drinking water, and laundry aswell.

  • Fee: $42 per night

12. Tillamook Head Backpackers

camping oregon coast
Tillamook Head Backpackers

Found on Indian Beach close to Ecola State Park is a rustic campsite called Tillamook Head Backpackers Camp. Being one of the few, extremely rare free campsites along the Oregon Coast, this is my first choice whenever I’m in northern Oregon and one of the most gorgeous camping areas on the coast.
Since there is no car access and a moderate 4.5 mile hike with 1,200 feet elevation gain to the campsite, this free campground is first come, first served.

Meanwhile, since there isn’t running water, the campsite isn’t the best choice for families with young children.
However, the solitude of this campsite completely makes up for its lack of amenities. If you want to get away from the crowds, this Oregon Coast campsite is a great choice.

11. Sunset Bay State Park

Sunset Bay State Park

Because of the bay’s protective effect against severe coastal weather, Sunset Bay State Park is famous for its peaceful waters.
For those who want to explore Coos Bay, the Sunset Bay State Park Campground is a fantastic choice because it’s close to the beach.
Along with great facilities like hot showers, flushing toilets, and running water, the campsite is suitable for tent campers, RVs, those who hike and cyclists.

  • Fee: $19 (tents) – $33 (full amenities)

10. Loon Lake Campground

camping oregon coast
Loon Lake Campground

I have been camping at Look Lake since I was roughly 8 years old, so this location holds special meaning for me.. Loon Lake is one of the best coastal campsites for family camping because it has it all. Both tent camping and RV hookups are available at Loon Lake. In case you run out, there is a place close by that sells drinks, snacks, ice, and whatever else you might need. Since the place can get pricey, we suggest to pack extra stuff. Reedsport is the nearest town, and getting there will require at least 45 minutes of driving.

9. Cape Blanco State Park

Cape Blanco State Park

Found north of Humbug Mountain and Port Orford, at the westernmost point of the state, is a stunning but frequently windy campground. Trails from the campground descend to the shoreline and the neighbouring lighthouse.
Hiking trails spanning over eight miles connect the beach, ocean vista viewpoints, Sixes River fishing spots, and lighthouse. You can experience a 150 acre open riding area across from the horse camp, or ride a seven mile trail.
This little park is fantastic. Although there is always wind here, it is mostly blocked by the trees. It’s worth stopping by Port Orford and the lighthouse.

A luxurious all inclusive resort for adults only, Sandals Antigua lies on the edge of Dickenson Bay, the most popular beach in Antigua.
Located on a breathtaking 27 acre property, the resort include 373 rooms and is separated into two distinct areas: the Mediterranean Beachfront Village and the Caribbean Beachside Village.
Sandals Antigua is the ideal getaway destination for couples, having been voted the “world’s most romantic resort.” The 27 acres of lush tropical landscaping that surround Sandals Antigua are home to a gorgeous beach, elegant suites, and a variety of related activities.

Arriving at Sandals Grande Antigua

sandals antigua

You will fly into VC Bird International Airport to get to Sandals Grande Antigua for your honeymoon or couples getaway.
To start your vacation as soon as possible, you check in at the Sandals desk at the airport. After that, you can take advantage of a free 15-minute shuttle ride to the resort.
The resort is only ten minutes from St. John’s, the capital of Antigua, and only a short 15 minutes’ drive from the V. C. Bird International Airport. We left Toronto for Antigua in just four hours, so we didn’t waste any time and right away began to enjoy our getaway at Sandals Grande Antigua.

Sandals Antigua Rooms and Suites

sandals grande antigua rooms

Whichever Sandals Antigua Room you select, your trip will be delightful. You might be asking yourself, “Why would I spend money on an upgraded room when I’m going to be at the beach all day .” You might be surprised to learn that a room upgrade involves a lot more. Well…

  • YOU HAVE YOUR OWN BACKYARD
  • MARBLE BATHROOM
  • BUTLER ELITE SERVICE
  • CELLPHONE FOR REQUESTS
  • ALL THE FOOD YOU LIKE

We stayed in a Mediterranean Oceanview Penthouse with a One Bedroom Butler Suite, which included a living room and bedroom that were separate and had amazing views of the resort.
A range of rooms and suites are available at Sandals Antigua, found in beachside villages in the Caribbean or Mediterranean. The Mediterranean Villa with Private Pool Sanctuary is a fantastic getaway for honeymooners. It features a separate living area, a bathroom with a Roman whirlpool tub and a walk-in rain shower, with water views from the private garden with a pool.
There is a personal butler available at this villa.
There’s no shortage of other options for suites and rooms with garden, ocean, or beach views, and with or without butler service.

Sandals Antigua Restaurants

Sandals Grande Antigua restaurants

There are 11 restaurants and 7 bars at Sandals Antigua, offering a variety of cuisines including Japanese,French, British, American, Italian, and even Tex Mex. We definitely found some favourites after a week here, among the eateries, buffets, and sweets.

  • You won’t regret coming to Coco Café early for some freshly made chocolate chip cookies before they disappear.
  • For the tastiest breakfast and lunch buffets, visit Mario’s Italian restaurant. The Mexican, Asian, and Italian buffets were excellent, with daily themes changing. There was always fresh fruit, bread, pastries, and most importantly, bacon, at the breakfast buffets. among plenty of other things that were ever-changing.
  • Savour the Ok Corral Tex Mex kitchen’s fine Mexican cuisine while taking in the view. From wherever you sit, take in views of the chefs and your surroundings. You can watch them cook from the comfort of your table because all the tables are arranged around the kitchen.
  • Enjoy freshly made sushi in a cosy setting at Soy Sushi Bar. With its more intimate setting and more private Japanese cuisine, it’s a great substitute for Kimono’s Teppanyaki table. Experience unlimited servings of premium, freshly made sushi in a stylish setting. You can watch the chefs prepare your food up close at the high table seating.
  • Get something tasty for lunch at Doggies Hot Dog Stand, open from noon to 3 p.m. The ultimate All-American (or Canadian) treat is a Margarita pizza from Bella Napoli. Here, you can also personalise your wood-fired pizzas, so be artistic.

Sandals Antigua Drink Review

sandals antigua bars

The Sandal Grande Antigua includes seven bars, including a tiki bar and a swim-up bar.
There are swim up bars at two of the pools, which makes getting a drink really simple.
You can indulge to the fullest because, like at every Sandals resort, all meals, snacks, and drinks are included in the price of your stay! Also included is room service.

What to Do at Sandals Antigua

sandals antigua stingrays

There are plenty of things to do while visiting Sandals Antigua. Relax on the nearly two-mile stretch of powder-soft white sand while swimming in the stunning Dickenson Bay’s turquoise waters.

At Sandals Antigua, the calm waters are ideal for water sports. Free water sports offered include windsurfing, snorkelling, paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, scuba diving, and Hobie Cat sailing. It even includes professional instruction in watersports (scuba diving excluded).
If you’d rather stay on land, there’s yoga classes, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, basketball, tennis (day and night), table tennis, croquet, and beach volleyball.
Take a dip in one of the six pools or four whirlpools, pamper yourself at the spa, or explore the lovely grounds, which are filled with secluded, romantic areas.
Theme nights, talent shows, dance classes, chocolate parties, karaoke, a piano bar, beach parties and live music are just a few of the daily and evening entertainment options. Sandals Antigua is ideally situated for gorgeous sunsets over Dickenson Bay, so be sure to catch it.

Sandals Antigua Excursions

sandals antigua excursions

We had the opportunity to leave the resort twice while we were there, and we absolutely loved it.
Joining a cooking class at Nicole’s Table was the high point. We made some delicious food there, and it took a little over fifteen minutes to get to from the resort.
As we prepared the main dish, Abby’s West Indian Curry, Dhal Puri Roti, Roasted Pumpkin, and Spinach Cooked in Coconut Milk, we began by making Nicole’s Old Fashioned Rum Punch and Coconut Crisps to munch on.
The curry went perfectly with the roti, which was delicious. We were quite full after the rum tasting because the island cuisine is so heavy.
We also visited Sheer Rocks, a restaurant with reserved swimming areas.
Visiting Stingray City to see the stingrays was a wonderful choice that we planned to try but we were short of time.

Sandals Antigua SPA

sandals antigua spa

Give yourself a treat by having your butler schedule a visit to the Red Lane Spa. I had a private 60 minute Neroli Jasmine Candle Massage, which included a massage oil candle to take home. These oil candles are a wonderful way to carry the spa experience home, and I love souvenirs. With tasteful changing and waiting areas, personalised scents, and calm mood lighting, the staff makes sure that guests have a pleasant experience.
You can use the trendy outdoor water therapies in addition to your treatment reservation. To guarantee some privacy, schedule an appointment with the spa in advance.

Your butler can arrange for your return transport, luggage pickup, and an escort to the check-out lounge ahead of your departure. And until your next visit, pick up some Sandals Resorts souvenirs from the gift shop to remember your trips. We had such amazing times here, and we hope our review of the Sandals Grande Antigua was helpful in providing some advice.

Not only is New York City among the top places to visit in the US, It’s also among the most unique US tourist destinations. Although it is popular all over the world for its famous landmarks, New York is more than just the bright lights and waves of tourists. It is full of hidden gems that are just waiting to be found. Away from the more mainstream attractions, the city’s unique areas are home to hidden gems that provide a genuine experience.
Finding hidden gems in NYC serves as a rare opportunity to look past the shiny facade of the city, take in its dynamic culture, learn about its complex past. Get off the beaten track, avoid the buzzing tourist crowds, and get ready to discover the other side of New York City that not even many of its citizens can fully appreciate.

17. Roosevelt Island Smallpox Hospital Ruins

hidden gems in nyc

The Roosevelt Island Smallpox Hospital Ruins, wrapped in mystery and rich in history, provide a unique window into New York City’s past. The skeletal remains of this collapsed hospital serve as a sad yet beautiful reminder of the city’s enduring struggle and resiliency. These Gothic Revival style ruins, which were once a ray of hope for smallpox victims, stir up a sense of strange serenely that stands in stark contrast to the vibrant energy of the city.
There is more to the Smallpox Hospital Ruins than just history. They are about viewing New York City from a whole new perspective. The ruins draw you in with their atmospheric charm and historical significance, making you stop and think about the city’s unshaken spirit. You’ll have a deeper respect for the Big Apple’s less popular secrets after visiting this site.

15. Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden

hidden gems in nyc

Found on the North Shore of Staten Island, the Snug Harbour Cultural Centre & Botanical Garden is a thriving cultural centre surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Formerly, this 83 acre property housed retired sailors. Today, it is home to a remarkable collection of Greek Revival structures from the 19th century. There are peaceful ponds, art installations, and lush gardens scattered throughout.

From the zen like peace of the Chinese Scholar’s Garden to the riot of colour in the Connie Gretz Secret Garden, every garden at Snug Harbour is a world within itself. You will come across a variety of landscapes as you walk along these paths, all of which invite exploration and marvel at the varied beauty of nature.
Snug Harbor’s attraction is its capacity to provide an intricate experience. It takes you away from the bustle of the city with its blend of culture, history, and nature. To put it briefly, it presents a different aspect of the city than its typical frantic reputation.

14. The Elevated Acre

hidden gems in nyc

Visit the Elevated Acre, a park in the sky, to get away from the bustle of the city’s busy streets. There’s a green area between two skyscrapers that sits above the hectic Financial District streets. This little park, which is located on Water Street, has a 50-foot light sculpture in addition to breathtaking views of the Hudson River and Brooklyn Bridge. This urban haven offers top-notch landscaping and plenty of unique highlights. This large acre recently had a full Beer Garden added, and it’s now available to the public with a variety of craft beers on tap to enjoy while admiring the greatest view in the city.

13. Secret Gardens of Rockefeller Center

hidden gems in nyc

In NYC, Rockefeller Centre is an absolute must for tourists. People first notice the enormous flowering sculpture by Jeff Koon, the Christmas tree, and the ice skating rink when they arrive at the plaza. However, the small green gem tucked away far above NYC’s streets goes unnoticed. 620 Loft and Gallery is located throughout this art deco building’s rooftops. This public area has a lovely private garden with amazing views of St. Patrick’s Cathedral and perfectly shaped vegetation. English landscape architect Ralph Hancock created five magnificent roof gardens for the Rockefeller Centre between 1933 and 1936. Though the gardens have been closed since 1938, the Top of the Rock observation deck allows you to spy on three of them.

12. A Piece of The Berlin Wall

hidden gems in nyc
Berlin Wall in NYC

Five concrete slabs from the original Berlin Wall make up this stunning work of art by German artists Thierry Noir and Kiddy Citny, despite the fact that many people mistake it for just another street mural in New York City and it measures 12 by 20 feet. 520 Madison Avenue is where you can find this hidden gem tucked away in a little Midtown plaza. The piece was given to Battery Park City in Manhattan by the city of Berlin in November 2004, as stated in a plastic information guide attached to the metal fence surrounding the slab.

11. The Old City Hall Subway Stop

hidden gems in nyc
City Hall Subway Station

The long standing, once packed city hall subway stop, was forced to close in 1945 because of low traffic volume and a failure to be rebuilt. The Cathedral of St John the Divine was designed by George Lewis Heins and Christopher Grant LaFarge, the architects of the subway. With the exception of tiled signs that display station names and directions, the network’s modern furnishings have very little architectural detail. New York City’s first underground station opened to the public during the ‘City Beautiful’ movement at the turn of the century, which also saw the completion of Grand Central Terminal and the arch in Washington Square Park.
It formerly had a single platform and is now a part of the loop that six trains travel on, returning from the uptown local platform to the downtown local platform near the Brooklyn Bridge. Though the public is not allowed to enter this lovely station, there are occasionally guided tours available, and if you continue on the 6 train after its last stop, you can get a preview.

10. The Whispering Gallery

hidden gems in nyc

The Whispering Gallery is one of the most romantic hidden gems in NYC, even though it’s one of its most famous hidden gems. The domed ceiling lets sounds pass through the walls. As a result, two people can hear each other’s whispers when they are standing at diagonal arches. Experts claim that this happens as a result of the whisperer’s voice following the domed ceiling’s curve. Visitors can experience the whisper gallery and take in the intricate beauty of Grand Central’s murals while they’re in the terminal’s dining concourse, directly in front of the popular Oyster Bar & Restaurant.

9. Friends Experience

hidden gems in nyc

Most of us who watched TV in the 2000s and 2010s are familiar with Friends by default.
The Friends Experience, located in the centre of New York, offers visitors the chance to fully lose themselves in the magic of one of the most adored sitcoms on the TV.
You’re taken directly into the famous Friends world with this two-story interactive experience.

The Friends Experience gives tribute to a TV show that has won over millions of hearts and it’s more than just an attraction for many of them.

8. The Met Cloisters, Washington Heights

hidden gems in nyc

You might never have thought that a mediaeval castle could exist in the middle of New York City if you weren’t aware of The Cloisters previously. However, it is! European art history is the focus of The Cloisters, part of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and it’s located in 99 Margaret Corbin Drive. It was created with inspiration from numerous mediaeval cloisters, which are covered routes that unite to create an open square in the middle of churches and monasteries.

7.  Villa Charlotte Bronte, The Bronx

hidden gems in nyc

The Bronx or Italy? The stunning “Villa Charlotte Bronte” apartments have an authentic European appearance. Found in 2501 Palisade Ave, the Bronx’s Spuyten Duyvil neighbourhood, they overlook the Hudson River and were constructed in 1926 along the Palisades. It makes sense that the design, which has balconies and lush gardens, was inspired by an Italian villa!

Although just 1/7 of an acre, this little, secret park in Midtown East is majestic. Hideo Sasaki’s design was used by the Greenacre Foundation to construct it in 1971 and it’s located in 217 E 51st Street.

5. Andrew Carnegie Mansion, Upper East Side

The Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum resides in the historic Andrew Carnegie Mansion. The mansion underwent significant renovations over the years, but it was first finished in 1902 and recognised as a landmark in 1974. The mansion’s grounds, which are now a museum, offer guests a large garden and cafe as well as a little luxurious haven in the middle of Manhattan. This small piece of paradise is located in 2 E. 91st Street and is one of our favorite hidden gems in NYC.

4. Stone Street, Financial District

hidden gems in nyc
stonestreet nyc

One of the few cobblestone streets in New York City, Stone Street offers a more classic European feel to the contrary to modern city buildings that surround it. The street got its name because, according to Untapped Cities, it was among the first in the Nieuw Amsterdam colony to be paved with cobblestones (in 1658). These days, cars are not permitted through, and because of the outdoor seating, it’s one of the few places in NYC where street drinking is permitted during the warmer months. So if you need those insta photos head from Whitehall St. to Broad Street, between Marketfield St. and Bridge St and that’s where you’ll find this hidden gems in nyc.

Additionally, there is a sensory garden with plants that you are welcome to touch and smell, as well as a reflecting pool. This hidden gem in NYC is found in 320 E. 43rd St.

2. Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Prospect Heights

hidden gems in nyc

It will seem as though you have been totally transported to another city when you are in this green paradise in the middle of Brooklyn. It will undoubtedly feel like a trip to Japan during the cherry blossom bloom in the spring, but all year round, its easily walkable grounds offer a natural haven for New Yorkers with a variety of blooms. You can visit this marvelous place at 455 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11225.

1. Walk across The Brooklyn Bridge

hidden gems in nyc

One thing you have to do when visiting New York is to take a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.
Since most people stay in hotels in Manhattan, I suggest starting the walk on the Manhattan side, which will also be the most convenient.
But don’t forget to stop and enjoy the view back towards Manhattan, from where you can see One World Trade and most of Downtown Manhattan, among other things.

At the base of the Matterhorn is Zermatt Switzerland. This vacation spot has kept its original charm, is free of cars, and provides a virtually endless choice of excursion options.
Zermatt is one of the most gorgeous holiday villages in the world because it sits at the heart of the Matterhorn, surrounded by a vast hiking and ski area. There are 360 kilometres of pistes and 54 mountain railways and lifts within the ski area. Europe’s largest and highest summer skiing region is the “Matterhorn glacier paradise” region.
In this article we’ve gathered helpful information for anyone who’s planning to visit Zermatt Switzerland. We’ve tried to include hotels in zermatt, how zermatt weather is, and much more below.

Before You Visit Zermatt Switzerland

Zermatt, Switzerland
Zermatt, Switzerland

Zermatt, a village high in the Alps, has kept its combustion car ban since the 1960s. There are three options to get there: by train, taxi, or helicopter. You can park in the parking lots in the nearby city of Täsch if you’re travelling by car through Switzerland, and then take the shuttle to Zermatt. When tourists arrive, there are these lovely blue electric buses to assist them in getting around the town.
Zermatt is just across the border from Italy, but most of the locals speak Swiss German. Since French is another of Switzerland’s official languages, they might also be fluent in it. While most people can communicate in a few words, don’t expect everyone to speak English fluently. Learning a little bit of German also doesn’t hurt.
Swiss Franc is also the official currency of Switzerland. Yes, not the Euro. It is slightly more valuable than the USD.
Keep in mind that Zermatt and Matterhorn are not the same, as I had some trouble figuring out this before going there. Zermatt is the name of the town, not an a specific resort, and Matterhorn is the name of the mountain.

Best Times to Visit Zermatt Switzerland – Weather in Zermatt

It might be best to look into going to Zermatt between June and September, when the average daily high temperature gets above 69 degrees Fahrenheit, if you want to go there in the summer when the weather in zermatt is warm.
If you want to see snow, you should visit between December and March, when the average high temperature regularly drops below 45 degrees Fahrenheit.

Where to Stay in Zermatt Switzerland

Choosing a spot in Zermatt is the issue, not finding a place to stay. Making a decision can be tricky because there are so many fantastic hotels. To be honest, I couldn’t have decided which to choose on my own.
Our Swiss friend had arranged us a room at the Hotel Christiania, which offers the largest spa in Zermatt and some of the most breathtaking views of the Matterhorn.
Although the hotel itself felt more like a cosy cabin, the rooms were quite modern. I can’t get over how breathtaking the views were. The Matterhorn looking back at you when I woke up was an incredible experience that I will never forget.
If the hotel is more than 5–10 minutes away from the Gornegrat, you will have to walk quite a way to access the ski area. Since the Matterhorn is, once again, a key element of the experience, I would also check to see if it has a view of it. Finally, I would ensure that the hotel offers a nice breakfast buffet. You’ll save a tonne of money that way.
Other options that you might want to check are :

  • Hotel Schweizerhof,
  • Resort La Ginabelle,
  • Riffelalp Resort and
  • Hotel Coeur des Alpes
  • The Omnia

View the Matterhorn

It’s likely that you already have plans to see the Matterhorn if you’re travelling to Zermatt. If not, you need to put it right away on your trip plan. One of the highest mountains in Europe, this one is truly breathtaking. While you can see it from the town, you should also make plans to ride the Gornergrat Railway, which takes you to the best viewpoint, to get a closer look. For an amazing view the entire way, sit on the right side.

Take a ski trip

You have to ski if you visit in the winter. There are over 200 miles of trails on the mountain, so anyone, from rookie to expert, can find a trail that suits them. You could easily spend an entire day on just one slope, the 15.5-mile long Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Try them and I’m sure you’re going to love a zermatt ski resort experience.

Shopping at Bahnhofstrasse

In spite of its small size, Zermatt has a vast shopping area. Shop for clothes at Bijou les Boutiques, jewellery at Atelier Marcus Marienfeld, and souvenir ceramics at Zermatt Keramik on the Bahnhofstrasse.

Go for a hike

Travelling over the summer months? Hike through the lush scenery and spend time on those same trails. AllTrails lists more than a hundred trails to explore, with the Five Lakes Walk being the most highly recommended by locals. We have rated this 6.8-mile trail as moderate. Give yourself a full day to finish it so you can take as much time as you’d like to pause and take in the scenery.

Where To Eat in Zermatt Switzerland

zermatt restaurant
zermatt

You definitely won’t run out of places to eat in Zermatt if you run out of activities. Actually, tasting some speciality Swiss cuisine is one of the best ways to fully immerse yourself in the culture.
Naturally, raclette, cheese fondue, meat and oil fondue, and Gluihwein are some of the must-try dishes.

Madre Nostra

At the Cervo Mountain Resort, have lunch or dinner by the slopes at Madre Nostra. Fans of meat can enjoy a special three-course BBQ dinner on Mondays, while vegetarians, vegans, and pescatarians can still order salads, pastas, and fish dishes prepared in the Italian style from the regular menu.

3100 Kulmhotel Gornergrat

At the highest hotel and restaurant in the Swiss Alps, 3100 Kulmhotel Gornergrat, enjoy dinner while taking in the view. Its restaurant, Vis-à-Vis, serves local products in Swiss-inspired dishes like fondue, pork cordon bleu, and salmon trout

Fuchs Bakery

Visit the Fuchs Bakery for a tasty start to the day. They make freshly baked goods with ingredients that are sourced locally. Together with croissants and breads, there will be a bounty of sweet treats.

Swiss chalet (classic Swiss style)

For traditional Swiss cuisine in a family-friendly setting, this restaurant is fantastic. We got the impression from the owners that we were eating in their house. Don’t forget to try the Surf and Turf fondue.dip raw food into a pot of oil instead of cheese for cooking. It’s delicious to drink the broth as a soup at the end.

Best Bars in Zermatt Switzerland (especially for apres ski)

Zermatt bars
Zermatt

Don’t worry if you are visiting Zermatt during the week rather than the weekend. Usually, this little town comes alive, even on Monday evenings. Some choose to visit Zermatt’s top bars after a lovely meal with loved ones. Some people just arrive from the mountain, complete with ski boots, and continue to drink until the early hours of the morning. It’s a pretty interesting contrast.

Here are some of my favorite bars in Zermatt:

The Little Bar

Little Bar is such a hidden gem that you would probably miss it if you were visiting the area. Along with a large number of visitors for après ski, it also attracts a mix of foreigners of all ages.

Hairy’s Bar

This is a tiny wooden house that meets a variety of tourists of all ages. It won’t take you long to discover that everyone enjoys dancing here. Even just stopping in for a drink is a worthwhile experience because of the friendly and accepting crowd.

The Post

In theory, there are roughly four bars in one building at the post. There’s the “pink room,” which often features live music, and a stone basement with a large dance floor and a live DJ. It’s arguably one of the most favoured spots in Zermatt for nightlife.

How to get to Zermatt Switzerland

Road to zermatt

Although Zermatt is quite far from the majority of Switzerland’s major cities, getting there is very simple. My advise is to take a plane to Zurich and then the train to Zermatt. We spent roughly three hours on the train.

You could also fly into Milan from Italy across the border, or take the train from Geneva or Bern. In actuality, the latter choice is the closest.

Another option is to drive into Zermatt, but there’s really no point as the town forbids cars. It would have to be left in an out-of-town parking garage. Plus, why not reduce your carbon footprint by taking the train, which has a superior system?

To get to Zermatt, you probably need to transfer at least once. Getting a round-trip train pass is one thing I’d suggest but make sure you keep your ticket. The trains depart on time, so don’t be late!

I hope my advice and suggestions help you to enjoy an equally incredible ski escape week in the Swiss Alps as I did and I wish you the best of trips to your adventure in Zermatt Switzerland!

The idea of bachelorette parties is to make long lasting memories. It should be an unforgettable experience, no matter how or where you decide to spend it, specially if you and the girls plan to attend lots of bachelorette parties this year. Although Las Vegas might be your initial pick for a bachelorette party, there are plenty of other options that are equally, if not more ideal.
Obviously, celebrating your new relationship status and spending time with your favourite people are just as important as enjoying your best bachelorette party.
You’ll find a vacation spot that is ideal for you and your friends, and the best bachelorette party destinations that reflect your exact vibe no matter if your ideal escape is action and adventure or sun and fun.

I. EXOTIC DESTINATIONS

1. The Bahamas

The Bahamas

A short flight from major US cities, this gorgeous retreat offers white sand beaches, lavish hotel rooms, and all inclusive choices. From groups seeking a lavish experience to party animals who will thrive in Baha Mar, the Bahamas have something to offer to everyone.

  • Where to stay: In the Bahamas, at least, two resorts stand out for their bachelorette party activities. For all the thrills (and vacation drinks), plan nights at the posh SLS Baha Mar or the handy Atlantis with your group. In the unfortunate scenario that the party ended a little too late the night before, the SLS also offers on site concierge services.
  • Where to eat: There are many places to eat in the Bahamas, specially if you decide to stay at one of the three hotels within the Baha Mar megaresort. In 2021, Café Boulud opened. For group dinners, there’s also a Katsuya and Cleo. There’s no shortage of gorgeous shacks and places for fresh food and vacation cocktails in Nassau and along the many islands.
  • What to do: Well considering that your bachelorette party picked the Bahamas as their destination, scuba diving and water sports are advised. Set up a Sunset Cocktail Cruise on Blackbeard’s Revenge, the Bahamas’ only pirate ship. Also, opt for a three course meal and reserve the Bootleggers & Barrels Party Cruise.

2. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

cabo san lucas, mexico
cabo san lucas, mexico

For brides and bridesmaids seeking luxurious resorts and gorgeous oceanfront rooms at every turn, Cabo is a short trip from nearby L.A. or Texas. Cabo is a resort peninsula with plenty of party and pool options. A small advice: travel safely and avoid the Spring Break schedule.

  • Where to stay: The Cape Cabo offers guests access to Monuments Beach as well as a rooftop sky garden with views of the ocean. Also, there is the Esperanza Resort, which offers suites with private infinity pools, views of the ocean, and outdoor terraces. The Nobu Hotel Los Cabos is more laid-back because modern Japanese minimalism served as some of its inspiration. Cabo offers a huge DJ stand, a swim up bar and other party hopping features, all of which create a true party vibe.
  • Where To Eat: Definitely try Blue Marlin biza. Large groups of bachelor parties often go for Nobu as well as The Office because of its gorgeous venue.
  • What to do: Cabo offers a wide range of activities, but it’s most famous for golfing, boat trips, and day clubbing. Visit the Omnia for their pool party or chill on the beach.

3. Dubai

Dubai, UAE

  • What to do: Plan some desert activities (a lot of vendors offer sandboarding, camel rides, belly-dance lessons, and a lot more), visit the Dubai Mall and neighbourhood Souks for shopping, or spend some time at Jumeirah Beach, which offers some of the best nightlife and entertainment.

4. Barbados

Barbados
Barbados
  • Where to stay: Barbados is known for being the birthplace of rum, so you know it will be a great destination for your bachelorette party. It will also be quite a lifetime memory. This tiny island nation in the eastern Caribbean Sea is the ideal bachelorette destination, having endless stretches of snow white beaches complete with stunning turquoise waters and a local culture centred around tasty Bajan cuisine and upbeat music. The O2 Beach Club & Spa, The Sands, The Crane, and Sandals Barbados are a few popular resorts that are perfect for groups.
  • What to eat: Eat at Fred’s Restaurant and Bar, Animal Flower Cave and Oistin’s Fish Fry which is the place to go on Fridays for the best taste of Barbados.
  • What to do: A visit to Barbados would not be complete without exploring the island’s innermost, where a tram ride can take you to discover the network of caves known as Harrison’s Cave. Spend the remainder of your days relaxing on one of the island’s top beaches, from Carlisle to Crane and Dover, or taking a Mount Gay rum tour. When the sun goes down, make your way to the St. Lawrence Gap and get ready to dance the entire evening.

5. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Punta Cana
Punta Cana
  • Where to stay: If you’re looking for an affordable, unnoticed beach vacation, Punta Cana is the place to go. The tropical feeling, beautiful shores, and fun recreational activities makes it similar to Cancun Mexico yet, it’s usually half the price. A scavenger hunt, group photoshoot, spa day, and in-room tapas party are all included in the bachelorette package at Breathless Punta Cana. Hyatt Zilara and Secrets Cap Cana are the latest resort alternatives that are also ideal for groups.

  • What to do: For some much needed unwinding, take a therapeutic mud bath at the Blue Hole Mineral Spring in Brighton District. After that, take a walk along Bourbon Beach to enjoy live reggae music. Take advantage of the One Love Bus Bar Crawl on One Love Drive to experience Negril’s nightlife. It is strongly advised.

But Ibiza offers much more than just a thriving club scene. If you know where to go, you’re sure to find something for everyone. Bachelorette parties might want a place to stay at One Ibiza Suites, Nobu Hotel, or ME for a memorable stay because they are close to a number of attractions.
  • What to eat: Some of our favourite spots to eat are Beachhouse, Ibiza Food Studio, and Jondal.
  • What to do: Spend a day relaxing at Bless Hotel Spa, explore the Can Marca caves, spend the day at the beach club Nikki Beach Ibiza and the night at Cova Santa.
